TRACKING-UP LIBRARY: BOOKLETS

In response to frequent requests for back numbers of Tracking-up magazine (which we are unable to stock due to financial constraints) we are now publishing in booklet form, some of our major series of articles. In most cases these include expanded text and additional illustrations.

Also included in our library will be selected series of articles by Susan McBane, Anne Wilson and Lesley Skipper, which have appeared in Equi-Ads magazine.

Here are the first four booklets now available in our Library:

1: Schooling from Scratch by Anne Wilson

This is a collection of articles which appeared in Tracking-up from the very first issue. The text has been expanded to encompass some topics for which there was insufficient room in the articles, and containts some new illustrations. There is a new chapter at the end.

It is aimed at the ambitious owner/rider who wishes to train a horse from scratch. For this purpose I am assuming that the horse is three to four years old, has been handled from birth but never lunged, nor backed.

CONTENTS:

CHAPTER 1: Work in-hand

CHAPTER 2: Accustoming the horse to the bit and preparing him for the rider's weight

CHAPTER 3: Lungeing - the first lessons

CHAPTER 4: Lungeing - more advanced lessons - trotting poles and side reins

CHAPTER 5: Mounting for the first time

CHAPTER 6: Refining the aids and the mounted trot

CHAPTER 7: Further schooling and hacking

CHAPTER 8: Travelling your youngster
